Our Culture, Theology and Intercession gatherings are intended to create a space for our church family, and others, to learn, discuss and pray over the sensitive and potentially divisive cultural issues of our day.
We begin the evening by surveying scripture to understand God’s heart for the specific cultural issue at hand. This flows into a time for discussion and Q&A. One of the primary reasons we do this is bring awareness so that we can intercede in prayer however the Spirit of God leads us to pray about a particular topic.
It goes like this:
– Scripture study/survey
– Discussion, Q&A
– Prayer, throughout the evening and following the Q&A
– Fellowship around the table (typically, ice cream!)
Our battle is not against flesh and blood, primarily, so we gather to cultivate compassion, bring awareness and intercede for those affected and hurting.
